Bezaye Tessema, (PhD), is a postdoctoral researcher at the Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences and a Visiting Postdoc Scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy of Rice University.

Bezaye is researching new directions in carbon markets, including accelerating climate actions through increased participation of city and connecting city-dwellers in the emerging carbon markets, and on how carbon markets work for Africa .
